Few hours after oil workers announced a nationwide strike, National Association of Resident Doctors, University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, Ondo, chapter, also followed suite on Monday. The doctors commenced an indefinite strike over unpaid salaries and other allowances.
Acting President of the Association, Dr Sanni Oriyomi, said his members could no longer work without being paid.
Oriyomi added that the government is owing the doctors four and a half months salaries, COVID-19 allowance, and other entitlements.
The doctors had earlier gone on a week warning strike last week alleging that the government remained to their demands, hence the declaration of the indefinite strike.
