Fuel scarcity looms as PENGASSAN begins strike

Nigeria may witness scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly called petrol as oil workers have decided to embark on a nationwide strike action today.

Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria on Monday (November 9, 2020) ordered its members to vacate their duty posts.

According to a circular issued to this effect and signed by the General Secretary, PENGASSAN, Lumumba Okugbawa in Abuja, the industrial action is connected to matters bordering on the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System.

The strike would also enable members of the union express their dissatisfaction on the failure of the government to reconcile the differences between PENGASSAN and government’s payment system.
