It was a chaotic scene on Thursday as suspected APC members clashed with their PDP counterparts at the premises of the Edo State High Court.
The dramatic scene occured just as the tribunal postponed hearing on a petition filed by Dr. Asue Ighodalo and his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to January 17, 2024, so that the parties could meet with the Court Registry beforehand on Thursday to discuss the presentation of documents by the petitioners.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Okpebholo the winner of the September 21, 2024, election with 291,667 votes, defeating Ighodalo of the PDP with 247,274 votes. The petitioners, Asue Ighodalo, PDP, Accord Party (APM), Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Action.
