In a powerful speech on the floor of the House, Rep. Nancy Mace described how several people, including her ex-fiance, had allegedly sexually assaulted, raped, and voyeurized her and other women.
She accused Alan Wilson, the attorney general of South Carolina, of not bringing these charges. In addition to sharing her own experience, the speech brought attention to the structural problems with the insufficient reaction to sexual offenses.
