Ten people have been killed in a school shooting in the Austrian city of Graz, in what is seen as the bloodiest gun incident in Austria’s recent history
Shortly after, the gunman, a 21-year-old ex-student, committed suicide in a school restroom, according to police. The incident happened at the northwest city’s Dreierschützengasse Secondary School.
Interior Minister Gerhard Karner reported that the attack killed three men and six women.
According to authorities, 12 more individuals were hurt, some of them critically. The number of victims killed now stands at ten after local media reported later on Tuesday that an injured female had passed away in the hospital.

Karner told a news conference Tuesday afternoon that the gunman, who has not yet been identified, was a previous student at Dreierschützengasse who did not complete his education there.
Karner pointed out that there has been a lot of conjecture surrounding the issue and that the criminal office is now responsible for conducting an investigation.
Police stated during the same conference that they were still looking into the gunman’s motivation.
Officers also verified that prior to the attack, police were unaware of the shooter.
According to authorities, the gunman possessed a firearms license and was the lawful owner of the two rifles used in the assault.
According to local media, the guy carried out the shooting using a shotgun and a pistol.
