Kanye West has found a buyer for the beachside Malibu home he trashed and then tried to sell.
________
The Hollywood Reporter claims that the rapper, better known by his stage name, “Ye,” sold the property through Jason Oppenheim of the Oppenheim Group. According to reports, it is presently in escrow while the transaction closes.
The Jesus Walks singer originally advertised the house for $53 million (£41.4 million) this April; however, he then lowered the price to $39 million (£30.5 million). The sale occurs more than six months after his initial listing.
West purchased the house in 2021 after Tadao Ando designed it and had it constructed about ten years earlier. Its interiors were allegedly completely dismantled by him, so a new owner would have to pay a large amount of money to restore them.
West has also faced legal action asking for payment on works carried out on the home, which put obstacles in the way of the sale – with a contractor alleging he was owed more than $1 million (£780,000) for his work. However, that appears to now no longer be blocking matters.
The four-bedroom, 4,0000-square-foot beachfront house has Pacific Ocean views from every room.
