President Bola Tinubu, has pledged to expel them from the nation the infamous “Lukarawas” terrorist organization.

Concerns have been raised by the group’s appearance in northwest Nigeria, especially since the recent coup in Niger hampered military coordination between Nigeria and Niger and allowed them to infiltrate.

“The Lukarawas will be flushed out of Nigeria, and we’ll put critics to shame,” Mr Tinubu said. “Boko Haram is already on the run, fleeing to neighbouring countries as Nigeria becomes inhospitable to their operations.”

The President made this declaration at the 2024 Comptroller-General of Customs Conference in Abuja. He spoke through the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, who represented him at the event.

Joint military operations were hindered by the recent coup in Niger, which made it easier for terrorists to enter Nigeria.

According to experts, local insecurity is increasing as militants from Niger and Mali are now aggressively invading Nigerian states like Sokoto and Kebbi.

Managing persistent internal security concerns while combating these emerging threats is now a problem for Nigeria’s security forces.

According to President Tinubu, the new terrorist organization’s threats are currently being successfully neutralized.

Speaking further at the event, Mr Tinubu, whose prepared speech was read by Mr Ribadu, highlighted the administration’s progress since he took office on May 29, 2023, citing increased crude oil production in the Niger Delta and fiscal reforms by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
