In Makurdi, the capital of Benue state, a church building collapsed, killing the pastor of the church and injuring three other members.
According to reports, the building collapsed following a 15-hour period of intense rain that began on Monday, October 2, and continued into the early hours of Tuesday, October 3.

A church member died as a result of the incident.

According to sources, four members of the church were observing prayers at the church building before the incident occurred.

The other worshipers allegedly managed to leave the wrecked structure with varied wounds.

Anene Sewuese Catherine, the police public relations officer for the Benue State Police Command, however, claimed she wasn’t aware of the incident when approached.
