Lucas Paqueta, a midfielder for West Ham, is a target for Manchester City, according to sources speaking with ESPN.
Although they have not yet made an official offer, City has big hopes for the Brazilian midfielder.
The club sees a deal for Paqueta as apart from anything that might occur about Bernardo Silva’s future. Silva has stated that he wants to find a new challenge outside of the Etihad Stadium, but insiders have told ESPN that despite interest from Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and the Saudi Pro League, City is growing more confident of keeping the 28-year-old.
Silva will soon earn a new deal from City, which has not yet received a formal offer for the Portuguese international.
West Ham values Paqueta at more than £70 million ($89.4 million), and the club would be reluctant to lose the 25-year-old after Declan Rice left for Arsenal earlier this summer.
Following a £50 million transfer from Lyon in 2022, he assisted West Ham in winning the Europa Conference League trophy in his first campaign at the London Stadium. He has previously spent time at Milan and Flamengo, and he was a member of the Brazil team that competed in the World Cup in Qatar.
